:: From PET to Recycled PET
PET is the commonly used plastic to make bottles and packaging. It belongs to the family of polyester and derives completely from petroleum and natural gas. After long processes from 1,9 Kg of crude petroleum 1 Kg of granulated PET is obtained. However, one million years are needed in order for the environment to reabsorb it. On the contrary R-PET is an infinitely recyclable material that does not undergo the process of down cycling (a loss of the chemical and mechanical qualities of the product) and allows the perfect balance between recyclable and recycled (1 Kg of PET = 1 Kg of R-PET). Products in R-PET show no difference compared with those in PET regards functionality, safety and aesthetics characteristics.
